While reading.Quran and I found a verse relating to food and sustenance. I have read this verse over and over again but this time I felt a longing to find out more. It resonated with me more then ever before in my life. It got me thinking and finding about the nutrition of the prophet. Islam is complete in every way and the Prophet Muhammed (SAW) gave us guidance on nutrition, eating specific foods sand their benefits and how to be physically fit. And so in my research of prophetically inspired food and their benefits I have started to adopt this in my cooking. (I do sometimes forget but whenever I can, as I am still learning) Before I cook I make wudhu, make an intention and throughout my cooking I try and make Salaawat to the prophet. In doing this I ask Allah for the food that is provided has healing benefits for my family and I. In remembering the Prophet (SAW) you heal your heart. “O Allah! Remove the harm, O Lord of mankind! heal this ailment and You are the One Who heals. There is no healing except Yours, [Cure]with a healing which does not leave any disease behind” Allaahumma Az hibil ba’sa rabban-naasi ishfihi wa antash-shaafi laa shifaa aa illaa shifaaooka shifaaoon la yughaadiru saqamaa. On today’s platter, cucumbers, dates, baba ganoush, tomato and basil dip, labneh, simit and pita bread. The prophetically inspired food and their benefits that are used are: Dates-Rich in fiber Cucumber - excellent for hydration Pomegranate- anti inflammatory properties Labneh- excellent for calcium and bone health Olive oil- decreased risk of heart disease Himalayan salt- minerals required by he body Basil- contains disease fighting antioxidants and acts as an anti-inflammatory #iftaar #foodoftheprophet #proheticfood #sunnah #healtheheart #healthbenefits #dates #enlightening #purpose #ramadhan2018 #pomergranate #prayer #pray #salaah #cucumbers #oliveoil #basil #himalyanseasalt #wudhu #intention #salawat #dua #shazeats #mandysway
