These low carb pitas are packed with aromatic Middle Eastern flavours. These delicious pitas are grilled with Zataar and then topped with beef and peppers that have been flash fried sumac and a blend of sweet spices.
Ingredients:
2-4 pitas cut in half
2 tbsp Zataar
2 tbsp olive oil
500g minute steak cut into strips
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp sumac
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 cup mixed peppers cut into strips
1/2 cup red onion cut into strips
Middle Eastern Salsa
Toss together:
1/3 cup cucumber cut into cubes
1/3 cup Cherry tomatoes cut in half
2 tbsp freshly chopped mint
Pomegranate Molasses
Method:
Cut the pitas in half. Mix the Zataar and olive oil and spread onto the pita. Put the pitas into a preheated oven at 180 for 10 mins.
Heat a pan, add olive and sizzle the ginger garlic paste . Flash fry the minute steaks and add the spices. Toss in the peppers and onions and combine everything together.
Take the pita out of the oven. Top with beef and then the salsa. Drizzle pomegranate molasses and enjoy !!!!
